Description
The ground floor of the Santa Barbara shopping center is home to a number of retail stores and has a partially wood covered corridor for shoppers to stroll through as they window shop. The two upper floors are occupied by offices. On the whole, the structure’s exposed brick walls and exterior aluminum siding blend with the exposed wood of its steeply inclined black rooftops and give it a distinctly European morphology. The building’s flexible and comfortable indoor spaces are separated by sheetrock walls which makes them easy to modify. CRIBA also did natural gas, electrical, plumbing, floor and wall tiling installations as well as paintwork in common areas.
