Description
This project was a result of a municipal initiative which sought private sector investment to fund the design and construction of parking lots under the city’s parks in exchange for a long term concession to operate the lots. CRIBA partnered with Berdichevsky & Cherny, a leading local architectural firm that designed a two level underground parking lot which occupies only half of the space of the park which lies above it. In order to minimize environmental impact and not disturb everyday life in the neighborhood work was done mainly on Cantilo St. which was transformed into a pedestrian walkway.
